This roundtable offers an opportunity for current and recent graduate students to learn about careers beyond academia for Russian, Eurasian and East European Affairs specialists. The speakers are drawn from a range of professions, including the arts, business, think tanks, and educational administration. The speakers will discuss their own paths from regional studies to their current positions and offer insights on how to navigate the non-academic job market.

I’m thrilled to be returning to the Mendocino Coast Writers’ Conference, this time as part of the juried Master Class to study with Julie Buntin! It will be a virtual conference this year to protect everyone’s health, but I’m still looking forward to the opportunity to connect with this warm and vibrant community.
This panel will explore the cultural and literary implications of mass imprisonment in the Soviet Union throughout the 20th century and in the post-Soviet era.

Julie Zigoris is a writer and educator based in San Francisco. Julie discovered the benefits of herbal medicine when she was pregnant with her first child, and she has been crafting concoctions ever since. She has studied at The California School of Herbal Studies and The Herbal Academy of New England.
